Greenwood man accused of molesting three children

A Greenwood man accused of molesting three children is behind bars.

Prosecutors charged Jesse Allen Robinson, 34, with four counts of child molesting, including a Level 1 felony and three Level 4 felonies. He was arrested Monday evening.

The victims told family members, who eventually told police, Robinson had been touching them inappropriately for more than two years, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in August in Johnson County Circuit Court.

Greenwood police in March spoke with a family member who had known about the accusations but did not report them immediately, according to court documents.

The victims, all 10 years old or younger, told detectives that between January 2018 and March of this year, Robinson would lay down next to them and touch them inappropriately, over and under their clothes. One of the victims said Robinson also made them touch him inappropriately. The victim said they told Robinson to stop and that it hurt, to which he responded, “Please don’t tell anyone … I’m sorry,” court documents show.

Robinson told police during an interview on March 26 he had struggled with alcoholism since his teenage years and regularly became intoxicated around the victims, according to court documents.

When asked about touching the children inappropriately, he said, “If I ever did that, I am very sorry … I have no memory of it, it could have happened,” court documents show.

As the interview progressed, Robinson said he touched two of the children inappropriately, over their clothes, but became nervous and stopped, according to court documents.

Robinson is being held at the Johnson County jail on $60,000 bond.
