Warriors’ Wilkerson signs with SIU
Whiteland senior Haley Wilkerson made her collegiate plans official on Friday, signing a letter of intent to play softball at Southern Illinois. Wilkerson, who will join Franklin senior Erin Lee with the Salukis next year, batted .333 with two home runs as a junior before her season was cut short by injury.

Women’s basketball drops tourney opener
In its opening-round game at the Centre Classic in Kentucky, Franklin College came up short against the host Colonels on Friday evening, 64-55. Jessica Nix had career highs of 17 points and seven steals for the Grizzlies (1-1), who will play Oglethorpe at 1 p.m. today.
