Men’s hoops gets into win column
Ty Wright and Ryan Wiggins both posted double-doubles as Franklin College earned an 89-79 win at Aurora University on Saturday night. Wright posted career highs of 21 points and 14 rebounds for the Grizzlies (1-1), while Wiggins had 16 points and 16 boards. Mitch O’Mara and Matt Krause added 17 and 15 points, respectively.
Women’s drops 2nd straight
A slow start doomed Franklin College in a 69-56 loss to Oglethorpe in the Centre Classic on Saturday afternoon. Jessica Nix had 16 points and eight rebounds in defeat for the Grizzlies (1-2), who fell behind by 13 in the first quarter after scoring just four points.
