GREENWOOD
Ray Mize, 98, of Greenwood, passed away on November 26, 2021. He was born on November 4, 1923 in Stab, Kentucky to the late Lucian and Ethel Mize.
He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where he served as song leader and sang in the choir. Ray then went on to serve at Calvary Baptist Church as a Deacon, and member of the church quartet. Ray served in the United States Army during WWII in Asia.
Ray is survived by his wife of 77 years, Anna Mize; son, Donell (Carol) Mize; grandchildren; Leslie Mickey, Erica Howard, and Justin Mize; and great grandchildren, Taylor, Aiden, Maura, Jack, Matthew, Ella, and Gabrielle; and five great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Edith; and brothers, Louie, Cecil, Edward, and Wilbert.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 11:30 AM until the time of service at 1:30 PM at G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens of Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN.
Ray will be laid to rest with military honors in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.ghherrmann.com.
