Franklin College exceeds fundraising goal

Franklin College exceeded its fundraising goal for a drive that debuted last year.

GRIZTuesday, meant to raise money for the college’s athletic program, collected $142,994 during the day of giving Tuesday, exceeding its $100,000 goal by more than 40%, according to a Franklin College news release.

The fundraising effort started last year. During the pandemic, the college’s sports teams weren’t able to continue their usual fundraising efforts, with games and matches canceled or postponed.

The fundraiser was boosted by social media and virtual ‘GRIZ games’ that included appearances by Franklin College President Kerry Prather and Rafael Sanchez, an Indianapolis TV reporter who graduated from the college in 1992, the news release said.
