FRANKLIN, INDIANA
Janet Irene (Lanier) Hood, 84, of Franklin, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021 in Franklin.
Janet was born on August 10, 1937 in Atwood, Illinois to the late Paul and Francis Elizabeth (Dillman) Lanier.
Janet was a lifelong resident of Franklin and was a member of the Delta Theta Tau, Lambda Eta Chapter Sorority. She was employed at Morgan Packing Company for over 20 years before moving to banking. She worked at several banks in Franklin for the next 25+ years, retiring in 2010. In her spare time, Janet enjoyed ballroom dancing, her favorite activity.
Janet is survived by her son, Steven Hood (Kimberly) of Nineveh, IN, her sister, Karren Young of Franklin, and her brothers, Michael Lanier (Debbie) of Franklin and Allen Lanier (Lisa) of Florida.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Francis Lanier, and her brothers, Roger, Denver, Donald, James, and Bryan Lanier.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Good Cheer Fund.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 2:00pm at Jessen and Keller Funeral Homes – Franklin Chapel with visitation from 12:00pm until the funeral hour. Janet will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
