Four Franklin residents arrested in Shelby County drug bust

Police arrested four Franklin residents on drug charges after a raid Tuesday on the Johnson-Shelby County line.

Joseph Gamill, 52, was arrested on charges of dealing a narcotic drug, trafficking with an inmate and methamphetamine possession, all felonies. Angela Hayes, 45, was arrested on charges of dealing methamphetamine, dealing a narcotic drug and methamphetamine possession, all felonies. Larry Lee, 56, was arrested on charges of possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and methamphetamine possession, both felonies, and resisting law enforcement, a misdemeanor. Paul Rose, 60, was arrested on charges of methamphetamine possession and maintaining a common nuisance, both felonies. The Shelby County Prosecutor’s Office will decide what, if any, charges to file.

Officers with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Shelbyville Police Department and Shelbyville Police SWAT Team served a search warrant Tuesday at a home in the 8900 block of West State Road 44. The home had a Franklin address, according to a Shelbyville Police Department news release.

The search warrant, part of an extensive investigation by the Shelby County Narcotics Task Force, was to search for illegal narcotics and firearms in connection with the investigation. It was the second search warrant executed at the home in last 90 days, according to the news release.

Police found methamphetamine, heroin and fentanyl, along with six firearms, the news release says.
