Police: Two men stole $13K in items from Greenwood store

Police are searching for two suspects who stole thousands of dollars worth of items Monday at Best Buy in Greenwood.

Greenwood police were called to Best Buy near the Greenwood Park Mall shortly after 2 p.m. after the store’s loss prevention staff reported multiple smart watches had been stolen Monday evening, according to a Greenwood Police Department report.

Loss prevention staff told police two men in face masks walked into the back warehouse of Best Buy undetected sometime between 4:20 p.m. and 5:40 p.m. Monday. The men grabbed a tote in the warehouse and began loading it with products which were on nearby shelves, the report said.

Loss prevention staff told police the men had taken about $13,620 worth of Apple and Samsung Galaxy smart watches. The two men then took the tote and walked out of the warehouse, according to the report.

The two suspects are described as Black males who were wearing face masks.
