UPDATE 2:40 P.M.: All lanes of Interstate 65 are now open between Franklin and Edinburgh after a serious crash shut down the highway for several hours this morning, according to Indiana State Police.

UPDATE 1 P.M.: Three people, including a four-year-old child, were taken to area hospitals following an serious crash Tuesday morning on Interstate 65 in Johnson County, said Jackie Brockman, chief of the Amity Community Volunteer Fire Department.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police are investigating.

UPDATE 11 a.m.: Southbound lanes of Interstate 65 are open between Franklin and Edinburgh after a serious crash shut down the highway, according to Indiana State Police.

Northbound lanes will remain closed for another hour for investigation and cleanup, state police said.

A LifeLine helicopter is en route, according to Indiana State Police.
