Carolyn Jean Harper

Carolyn Jean (McMillin) Harper, 85, passed away on January 3, 2022. She was a resident of Greenwood.

Carolyn was born on February 18, 1936 in Franklin, Indiana to Harry McMillin and Ruth “Louise” Callam (Smith). She is survived by her children, Beverly Simpson (Louis) , Michael Harper (Lisa), Laura Harper, and Jane Harper (Tammy Gibson); grandchildren, Christopher, Daniel, Farley, Adam, and Mary; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Kendall, Brianna, Colten, Rylee, MaKynna, and one on the way; great-great grandson, Hudson; and sister, Marilyn Colin.

She was preceded in passing by her parents, Harry and Louise, and brother, Richard McMillin.

Carolyn graduated from Franklin Community High School where she was in charge of hosting the annual class reunions.

She was the manager at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles for many years while raising her children. She also worked as a nail technician and served food for those in need. Carolyn was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Tabernacle Christian Church. She was an avid IU basketball and Colts fan, as well as a lover of golf and Tiger Woods.

Carolyn was a fantastic cook and a good Christian woman who displayed unwavering faith for all to see, especially her children.

A celebration of life service will be held Friday, January 7, 2022 at 12:00p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton Street in Franklin. Visitation will be from 10:00a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.

The funeral home and family ask that masks be worn during the visitation and service for Carolyn following COVID-19 protocol.
