Janet ‘Jan’ (Davidson) George

Janet “Jan” (Davidson) George formerly Janet Stocklin 77 of Waldron, IN went home to be with her Lord, January 4th, 2022. She was surrounded by loved ones. Janet was born August 29, 1944, in Salem, Indiana to the late Johnny and Pearl Davidson. She attended House of James Beauty College in Greenfield, IN.

On August 22nd, 1959, she married the late Howard William Stocklin.

On July 6th, 1983, she married the late Ronald Dale George. He preceded her in death on May 29th, 2016. Ron and Jan enjoyed traveling and attending livestock auctions. Buying, selling, and trading livestock was a passion for the couple. They enjoyed gardening, spending time with family, especially grandchildren, and their church family. Ron and Jan enjoyed four wheeling, hosting fall get together’s, hayrides, and meals with church family.

Jan and Ron were members of Trinity Holiness Tabernacle in Franklin, In. Jan enjoyed spending her Wednesdays and Sundays with her beloved church family. She was grateful for her relationship with her pastor, Brother Jerome Baker and family.

Jan enjoyed her career as a Hair Stylist in her salon The Hair Depot. For more than 40 years she enjoyed laughing with clients, trading recipes, and knitting.

Jan enjoyed baking, caring for her flowers, feeding the birds and the grandchildren, and visiting with family.

Jan is survived by her three children, Keith Stocklin (Tina, deceased) of Greenfield, IN, Teresa Stocklin of Indianapolis, IN and Brad Stocklin Indianapolis, IN, her grandchildren Christine Thorne (Ross) of Shelbyville, IN, Holli Stocklin (Travis) of Indianapolis, IN, Mandi Stocklin of Greenfield, IN, Breanna Hogan (Nick) of Indianapolis, IN, Benjamin Erickson of Indianapolis, IN, Jacob Stocklin of Speedway, IN and Jordan Stocklin of New Braunfels, TX. Her great-grandchildren Sam Hogan and Max Hogan both of Indianapolis; Tanner Thorne and Tessa Thorne both of Shelbyville, IN.

Her brothers and sisters Josephine Lux (Steve, deceased) of London, KY, Denzil Davidson of Manchester, KY, Linda Kay Smith (Kenny) of Shelbyville, IN, Mendell Davidson (Kay) of London, KY, Jewell Davidson (Teresa) of London, KY, James Davidson (Stella) of Burning Springs, KY, Rita Leake of London, KY and Rebecca Dysart (William) of London, KY. Along with many beloved nieces and nephews, family, and friends.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents Johnny and Pearl Davidson, her husband Ronald Dale George, and her sister Julie Mathis.

Brother Jerome Baker will conduct a service on Monday January 10, 2022, at 2PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com. Friends may call Monday January 10, 2022, from 11AM until service time at the mortuary. Burial will be at Van Pelt Cemetery in Waldron, IN.
