GREEWOOD
Stephen T Montel 68, of Greenwood, Indiana passed away at Franciscan Health Indianapolis on Tuesday January 4, 2022. He was born in 1953 in Seymour, Indiana, to the late Harry and Patricia Montel. Steve graduated from Ball State in 1975, was a proud member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources. In 2002, Stephen received his master’s in business management.
Steve worked as a Supervisor at Maytag Jenn Air and Carrier for most of his career. He enjoyed IU football and basketball and loved to play sports, especially baseball and golf. He loved his dog, Gracie. Mostly, he enjoyed being around his family, grandkids and watching them grow.
In 1994 in Brown County, Indiana, he married the love of his life, Lesley (Burnau) Montel and later settled in Center Grove.
Stephen is survived by his wife Lesley, daughters; Jennifer (Ryan) Cullen, Amanda Kleiber, and Courtney Montel, brother; Jim Montel (Geri), nieces Megan Rule (Matt) and Jordan Assman (Marty), and his grandchildren; Avery Cullen, Callie Cullen, Jake Cullen, Bethany Kleiber, Lauren Kleiber, Jacob Pennington, and Chloe Pennington.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandchildren, Madison Pennington, and Elijah Cummins.
Visitation will be held at Voss and Sons Funeral Service on Friday January 14, 2022, from 12:00pm-1:30pm. Service will be held Friday January 14, 2022, at Voss and Sons Funeral Service at 1:30pm. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
