Bowling

Franklin boys win regional title

Led by individual champion Dallas Brawley, Franklin’s boys won the regional championship over the weekend in Kokomo. Brawley rolled a three-game total of 667 for the Grizzly Cubs, who defeated Indianapolis Lutheran in the stepladder final, 403-379, to claim the title. Whiteland’s boys also advanced to Saturday’s Richmond Semistate as a team, while Brawley, Franklin teammate Easton Henderson, Roncalli’s Jordan Bauerle and Greenwood’s Will Likens all move on as individuals.

On the girls side, Greenwood Christian’s Emily Heldman posted the top singles score at 556 before being defeated in the individual final. Heldman will compete at semistate along with Roncalli’s Gracie Tharp and Whiteland’s Lily Pryor. Roncalli advanced in team competition as well.

Braves overwhelm visiting Achaeans

Indian Creek powered its way to a 71-17 home win over Herron. Lauren Foster scored 16 points for the Braves (15-4), with Emily Todor and Faith Wiseman close behind with 14 apiece. Wiseman also grabbed 10 rebounds in the win.
