Trojans fall just short in MIC clash

Center Grove nearly toppled Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference leader Ben Davis on Friday but wound up on the wrong end of a 44-43 score. The Trojans fall to 7-6 overall and 0-3 in league play.

Royals edged by Dragons

Despite a 26-point effort from Aidan Leffler, Roncalli suffered a 67-63 setback at New Palestine. Nolan Tunny finished with 15 points for the Royals (4-8).

Shepherd heading back to Augusta

Center Grove graduate Erica Shepherd received an invitation to play in this year’s Augusta National Women’s Amateur, which will be held the week before The Masters in Georgia. Shepherd is one of just nine players who made the cut in each of the first two years of the tournament’s existence.

The first 36 holes will be played at Champions Retreat March 30-31. The entire field will play a practice round at Augusta National on April 1, with the top 30 returning to that legendary layout for the final round on April 2.
