E. Neil Cooper, 78, of Nineveh, passed away on January 23, 2022.

Neil was born on February 18, 1943 in Peru, Indiana to Rhea Catherine (Marken) Cooper and Neil Edward Cooper. He graduated from Peru High School in 1961, and earned his Eagle Scout Award. He later attended Ball State Teacher’s College in 1964, with a major in Business Education and minor in Psychology. While at Ball State, he was a member of Delta Chi fraternity. Subsequently, Neil worked for Alma Plastics Company in Edinburgh, Indiana and shortly thereafter moved to Nineveh, Indiana. He became responsible for a sales force of eighteen, promoting a line of proprietary plastic products. After a number of company ownership changes, Neil explored other opportunities and chose to become a rural letter carrier at the Nineveh Post Office for the next 26 years. This allowed him and his family to stay in the community which he had come to love. Neil took pride in his work and truly relished the friends he made during his career.

Neil enjoyed serving his community and was a member of the Prince’s Lakes Town Council, the Prince’s Lakes Plan Commission and the East Lake Lot Owners Association Board of Directors for 25 years.

His pleasures in life included spending time with family and friends, taking care of animals, appreciating nature and wildlife, and helping others. Neil had a love and devotion to his country which was exemplified by his focus on current events and sharing information with his family and friends. On the lighter side he also liked to pass along humorous anecdotes, jokes and cartoons. Neil also enjoyed photography, boating, teaching people how to water ski and other lake activities.
