Also, due to an issue with the statewide voter registration system, Mark J. Powell, a candidate for U.S. Representative for the Sixth Congressional District was erroneously reported to the county election board as filing for office as a Republican on Friday. Powell actually registered as a Democrat, and the error was corrected by the state.
