Grizzly Cubs top Panthers

Franklin kept its late-season momentum going with a 79-67 home win over Jennings County on Friday night. Micah Davis led the Grizzly Cubs (8-14) with 21 points and was joined in double figures by Sam Auger (16), Wyatt Nickleson (14) and Carson Hunter (12). Franklin faces Shelbyville in its sectional opener on Tuesday.

Brebeuf rally sinks Royals

Roncalli saw a fourth-quarter lead slip away in a 51-49 home loss to Brebeuf Jesuit. Luke Kegerreis and Aidan Leffler scored 15 points each to pace the Royals, who finish the regular season at 7-14.

Brunson, Traylor earn invites

Franklin seniors Kuryn Brunson and Ashlyn Traylor were among the players invited to participate in Hoosier Basketball Magazine’s Top 60 Senior Workout, which will take place on March 6 at Beech Grove High School. The two Grizzly Cubs will participate in the second session (3:30 to 5:30 p.m.). Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students.
