Governor seeking applicants for Superior Court 3 judge

Gov. Eric Holcomb is seeking applications for judge of Johnson County Superior Court No. 3.

Former Superior Court 3 Judge Lance Hamner resigned last month, and announced his intent to run for Johnson County prosecutor, challenging incumbent Joe Villanueva. Hamner was elected to the bench in 2008 after an 18-year-stint as county prosecutor.

Local attorney Jeff Eggers is overseeing the court until Holcomb names a replacement, according to the Indiana Supreme Court.

Qualified applicants can complete and submit a judicial application by no later than 5 p.m. Friday. The application can be found at https://www.in.gov/gov/governors-office/judicial-appointments/. They should be sent to the Governor’s Office by email at [email protected] or by hard copy at Governor’s Office, ATTN: Joseph R. Heerens, State House Room 206, 200 W. Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204.
