Beatrice ‘Bea’ Emma Gauld

FRANKLIN

Beatrice Emma “Barchey” Gauld, 91, passed away March 9, 2022. She was a resident of Franklin, Indiana, born in Somerville, Mass. to Francis Barchey and Beatrice (Cardarelli) Barchey Grose on October 26, 1930. On August 12, 1951 she married John D. Gauld V (he preceded her in passing) of Indianapolis, Indiana in Somerville, Mass.

She is survived by two sons, John D. (Pam) Gauld VI of Georgia and William (Terri) Gauld of North Carolina, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Other survivors are Herbert (Louise) Grose, stepbrother; Jody (Stephen) Thacker, niece; and Marshall Todd, nephew.

She was preceded in passing by her parents; stepfather Ansel Grose, Sr. and step-brother Ansel Grose, Jr. and her sister, Joan R. Barchey.

She leaves many close and dear friends, among them are Betty Hunt, David (Lexi) Johnson and the Richard Moore family.

A resident of Indiana since 1968, she was a bookkeeper for Cigna Insurance. Before her move to the Indiana Masonic Home, she was a member and Elder of Third Christian Church (D of C) in Indianapolis; member of Ransford Chapter, Order of Eastern Star; a Kentucky Colonel and Koran Chapter No. 30, Daughters of the Nile. She was a recipient (along with her husband) of the George Washington Medal of Honor, Freedom Foundation of Valley Forge. This honor was received for their many years of speeches and presentations to various groups such as schools, churches, Masonic organizations, etc. on our country, flag, various Presidents and Uncle Sam.

Rev. Cleon Wright will conduct a Celebration of Bea’s life on Monday, March 14 at 11:00 a.m. with one hour of visitation on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, in Franklin. An Order of Eastern Star service will be conducted prior to the service by the Ransford Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. Bea will be laid to rest next to her husband at Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
