Locals excel at state meet
Camron Mazdai of the Center Grove Aquatic Club claimed a pair of titles during the Age Group State meet at the IU Natatorium, taking first among swimmers age 11-12 in both the 50-yard freestyle (23.93 seconds) and the 100 free (51.97). Mazdai was also second in the 100 butterfly and third in the 50 backstroke and 200 individual medley.
Also posting top-three finishes locally were CGAC’s Henry Lyness, who finished second in the 13-14 100 backstroke and fifth in the 200 back, and Emma Small of the Franklin Regional Swim Team, who had a third-place showing in the 11-12 50 breaststroke among her five individual medals.
