Locals earn All-State mention
Four Johnson County players earned honorable mention recognition on the IBCA’s All-State teams, which were released Thursday. Edinburgh’s Travis Jones was among the seniors listed, while fellow Lancer Caleb Dewey was on the underclass list alongside Center Grove’s Marcus Ankney and Franklin’s Micah Davis.
IHSAA names award for Crowe
The IHSAA announced the formation of the Ray Crowe Excellence in Leadership Award, named in honor of the late Franklin native and Whiteland graduate who later rose to prominence as a state championship coach at Crispus Attucks. The award, which will be presented for the first time during Saturday’s state finals, will recognize those who exemplify “the highest standards of sportsmanship, ethical conduct and moral character.”
