Drivers in northeastern White River Township should prepare for a nearly three-week-long closure of Eagle Trace Drive.
Eagle Trace Drive will be closed between Olive Branch Road and Caledonian Court starting Monday as the city of Greenwood works on its Western Regional Interceptor project. The Western Regional Interceptor encompasses 10 miles of sewer pipeline through White River Township, which is serviced by Greenwood’s sanitary sewer system. When it’s completed, the project will alleviate capacity issues, while also expanding capacity for future development in Greenwood and White River Township.
The official detour for northbound drivers is to take Highland Park Drive to Berry Road, then Barry Road to Olive Branch Road. Southbound drivers are encouraged to follow the route in reverse.
Residents who live along Eagle Trace Drive and Lanarkshire Drive will still have access to their homes for the duration of the closure, city officials said.
The detour will be signed, and the work is expected to be completed on or by the afternoon of April 29, weather permitting, according to a Johnson County Highway Department news release.
