JCSO: Indy women sold meth in Greenwood

Following an investigation that started with prostitution and ended with drug charges, two Indianapolis women face charges after an alleged drug deal in Greenwood.

Karen E. Hill, 43, was charged by prosecutors in February with dealing methamphetamine, a Level 4 felony.

Juanita S. King was also charged in February with aiding in dealing meth, a Level 4 felony.

Hill was arrested late Tuesday evening and a warrant has been issued for King’s arrest.

The case stems from an October investigation. Deputies from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office were doing routine monitoring of local websites for criminal activity when a deputy located an advertisement on a known prostitution site. The ad had a phone number and a photo of Hill on it. Deputies recognized Hill immediately and did a criminal history check which showed she was involved with narcotics distribution, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in Johnson County Superior Court 3.

Deputies conducted an inquiry into the phone number and found it is associated with King, the affidavit says.

Deputies responded to the ad to discuss prostitution, but the person was unable to meet up because they were waiting for their drug dealer. This person also indicated to deputies they sold drugs, according to the affidavit.

A drug purchase was arranged at a hotel in Greenwood. On the day of the buy, deputies say Hill weighed the meth, but she didn’t have enough to fulfill the purchase request, so she contacted King for more meth. Hill went inside the hotel and came back with more meth, accompanied by King, according to the affidavit.

After the buy was completed, deputies weighed and tested the drugs, the affidavit says.

Hill was arrested by Greenwood police during a traffic stop on the city’s far north side. Police had pulled over a vehicle Hill was a passenger in for failing to have its front headlights on, and when police searched her name through their systems, they discovered Hill had two warrants for her arrest, according to a Greenwood Police Department report.

The first warrant was for the felony drug dealing charge in Johnson County and the second was for a probation violation out of Hancock County, online court records show.

Hill was taken to the Johnson County jail where she is held without bond.
