Grizzly Cubs sweep Trojans

Franklin kept its unbeaten season going with a 5-0 victory over No. 13 Center Grove on Tuesday. Rylie Wilkison, Chelsie Rayl and Emma Williams all won their singles matches in straight sets for the Grizzly Cubs, Haley Haldeman and Ailyn Hendricks rallied for a three-set win at first doubles and Emma Sappenfield and Kennedy Urban picked up the point in second doubles.

Warriors drub Olympians

Whiteland posted a 5-0 win over Columbus East. Maddy Nieto, Sara Ullrich and Candace Stephenson all earned straight-set singles wins, while Brenna Atchison and Kailyn Sheridan won at first singles and Kinsey Shipp and Cathy Nguyen did the same at No. 2.

Roncalli blanks Covenant

Roncalli swept Covenant Christian, 5-0. Rebecca Zakrowski, Ally Feltz and Lili Wisler won the singles points for the Royals. Katrina Gangstad and Elsie Kerr won at No. 1 doubles while Sophia Saran and Marisa Morwick were victorious in the No. 2 slot.

Grizzly Cubs shut out Warriors

Max Clark struck out 14 during a complete-game no-hitter and Landen Basey went 4 for 4 with three RBIs at the bottom of the order as Franklin picked up an 8-0 Mid-State Conference win at Whiteland on Tuesday. The Grizzly Cubs improve to 7-4 overall and 4-1 in league play.

Royals fall short

Johnny Roeder homered but Roncalli was unable to take advantage of bases-loaded opportunities in the final innings of a 5-3 loss to Bishop Chatard.

Softball

Trojans top Wildcats

Ruby Thompson homered to help power Center Grove to an 11-4 victory over Lawrence North on Tuesday. Riley Henson earned the win in the pitching circle for the Trojans (7-2).

Woodmen edged by Hawks

Decatur Central scored in the bottom of the seventh to steal a 5-4 win from Greenwood. Taylor Dick supplied the offense for the Woodmen (4-4, 1-3 Mid-State), driving in four runs with a double and a triple.

Lancers keep winning

Edinburgh took advantage of 13 walks in a 16-3 triumph over Columbus Christian. MacKenzie Bieker was the winning pitcher and added a pair of hits for the Lancers (4-4), who have won four in a row.

Royals maul Cardinals

Keagan Rothrock pitched a perfect game as Class 4A No. 1 Roncalli needed just five innings to take care of Southport, 10-0. Abbey Hofmann had a grand slam and five RBIs for the Royals (6-0), while Lauren Marsicek and Ann Marie Meek also hit home runs.

Boys golf

Woodmen top Braves, Lancers

Greenwood defeated Indian Creek and Edinburgh on Tuesday, posting a team score of 159 to beat the Braves and Lancers by 26 and 28, respectively. Jackson Watkins (Greenwood), Braxton Christie (Indian Creek) and Max Blandford (Edinburgh) all shared medalist honors with scores of 38.
