FRANKLIN
Phyllis Jane Wirey, 92, of Franklin passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022.
She was born on January 5, 1930 in Johnson County, Indiana to Elmer Ray Snyder and Minnie (Breedlove) Snyder.
She married Ronald Gene Wirey on September 5, 1948. He preceded her in passing.
She is survived by son, Michael A. Wirey; granddaughter, Elizabeth Mangin (Steve); great-grandchildren, Gabby and Jillian Mangin; step-granddaughter, Gretchen Wood (Scott); step-great grandchildren, Evan and Spencer Wood; brother, Oren Snyder and former daughter-in-law, Linda Worland (Bob).
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in passing by her parents and siblings, David Snyder, Carl Snyder, Margaret “Snyder” Coers, Harold Snyder, Glenn Snyder and Charles Snyder.
Phyllis was a 1948 graduate of Franklin Community High School.
Phyllis was employed for over fifty years as a Secretary/Receptionist for Dr. Arthur W. Records and later for Dr. John M. Records.
She enjoyed gardening, touring lighthouses on the Great Lakes and hosting special events for her family.
Visitation for Phyllis will be on Saturday, April 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, April 30 at 11:15 a.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
The family would like to thank Brookdale Hospice and Compass Park for their loving care and kindness shown to Phyllis.
