Claudia Jane Baumgardner Zaborowsky

CLEVELAND, TENNESSEE

Claudia Jane (Baumgardner) Zaborowsky, 76, passed away on April 22, 2022 in Cleveland, Tennessee. She was a current Cleveland, Tennessee resident and former longtime resident of Greenwood, Indiana.

She was born on September 11th, 1945 in Logan, West Virginia to Russell and Marjorie Baumgardner. She married Benjamin Zaborowsky on April 20th, 1963 in Logan, West Virginia. Claudia is survived by her loving husband Ben, her children, Hollie, Brian (Stephanie), Chris (Megan), and Erin and her sister, Susan (Larry) Lowe. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Logan Bartley, Alexa Ownsby, Mia Zaborowsky, and Maryn Zaborowsky. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Claudia graduated from Logan High School and quickly became a homemaker as she and Ben moved to Cleveland, Ohio and West Lafayette, Indiana while Ben continued his education. They settled in Greenwood, Indiana to continue raising their family.

During those years of family life, Claudia was an active member of Greenwood Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder and youth group leader. She was a devoted Boy Scout mom and committee member as her sons participated in Scouts for many years. Claudia volunteered for the Red Cross Chapter of Central Indiana and was a long time member of Phi Beta Psi philanthropic sorority. In later years, after she and Ben retired to the Chattanooga area, Claudia volunteered regularly at the Tennessee Aquarium and enjoyed social outings with the Red Hat Society.

A private celebration of life with family and friends will be held at a later date in Tennessee and Indiana. Memorial contributions can be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or St. Jude’s Childern’s Hospital in her honor.
