Johnson County drivers will continue to see Interstate 69 construction closures and detours as construction crews prepare for the extension of the interstate into Johnson County this year.
In Johnson County, nighttime State Road 37 lane closures are ongoing as crews continue bridgework for the new interstate. Last week, construction workers installed large concrete beams for the State Road 144 bridge over what will be I-69. Drivers will have to follow a detour to access Old State Road 37, which is closed at its intersection with State Road 144. Instead, drivers will be able to use a temporary crushed stone road connecting with Old State Road 37 at a roundabout, according to an Indiana Department of Transportation news release.
On the southside, drivers will experience nighttime lane closures near State Road 37 and Southport Road due to bridgework. A pair of 20-minute traffic stoppages will occur Wednesday morning at State Road 37 and Epler Avenue as construction crews remove an overhead power line, according to the release.
