Royals win sectional title

A doubles sweep helped Roncalli claim a 4-1 victory over Franklin Central in a sectional championship match on Friday. Katrina Gangstad and Elsie Kerr were victorious at first doubles, while the No. 2 pair of Sophia Saran and Marisa Morwick also came out on top. The Royals (17-4) also got singles points from Rebecca Zakrowski at No. 1 and Bridget Hehmann at No. 3.

Lancers eliminated in semifinal

Edinburgh dropped its sectional semifinal match at No. 3 Columbus North, 5-0. All five matches were decided in straight sets.

Baseball

Warriors squeak past Braves

Whiteland held off a furious rally to earn an 8-7 triumph over Indian Creek on Friday. Blake Riddle drove in a pair of runs for the Warriors (11-14), while Peyton Dickens went 3 for 3 and scored twice. The Braves (11-8) got two RBIs apiece from Jagger Bray and Blayden Mann.

Lancers hammer Eagles

Edinburgh cruised to an 11-1 home win over Brown County. Colin Richardson and Travis Jones each knocked in a pair of runs for the Lancers (6-14).

Grizzly Cubs fall to Olympians

Despite two home runs and three RBIs from Max Clark, Franklin came up on the short end of a 12-4 score against Columbus East. The Grizzly Cubs finish the regular season with a 16-9 record.
