SR 135 to close north of Trafalgar in June for structure replacement

SUBMITTED | INDOT

Drivers travelling between Bargersville and Trafalgar should expect a temporary closure of State Road 135 in June for a structure replacement project.

HIS Contractors, a contractor for the Indiana Department of Transportation, is planning to close State Road 135 for 60 days starting on or after June 1 to replace a structure located 1.23 miles north of State Road 252 in Trafalgar, according to an INDOT news release.

Traffic will be rerouted to follow the official detour route, which follows State Road 252, U.S. 31, State Road 144 and State Road 44. Local access will be maintained up until the closure, the news release said.

The contract for the work, which was for $2 million, also includes a bridge replacement project on State Road 252 at the West Fork Crooked Creek in Morgan County, INDOT says.

Drivers are reminded to slow down, avoid distractions and consider worker safety when traveling through active construction zones, according to the news release.
