William Rupp

Major William N. Rupp, US ARMY Retired was born December 27, 1945 to Robert W. Rupp and Mary Evelyn Rupp (nee Ayscue). He married Patricia Linville February 1, 1967, Divorced in 1974. He married Anita Hayes July 10, 1976, Divorced December 30, 1995. He currently is with his long-time girlfriend Karen Hurley whom he met playing golf on “two ball” Friday evenings in 1990.

He is survived by his sister Patricia J. Puckett Mills River, NC and his brother James Kirby Rupp, Edinburgh, IN, son Casey Rupp wife Missy, grandchildren grandson Jessie Rupp and granddaughter Cassidy Rupp and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert William and Mary Evelyn Rupp.

He graduated from LCHS in 1963 and joined the US Army on August 26, 1963. He later graduated from IU with a BS radio and communications in 1973. He retired September 30, 1983. He worked as the European Sales Manager Russ Berrie Toys from 1983-1985, ITT Telecommunications Instructor from 1986- 1987, and in 1987 was an Intern for Channel 13, WTHR-TV April through May.

He drew and wrote the cartoon strip “Balls and Tees” published in the Daily Journal each weekend.

He served as an IGA delegate as well as PGA golf course rater. He was as past member of Royal Oaks Golf Club. He was a member of the Masons, Wayne Guthrie Lodge #753.

He was a man of many talents. He was a talented artist, actor, writer, a many-times decorated soldier, airplane pilot and a skilled golfer.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 12 pm to 2 pm at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 2 pm.

Interment will follow in the Soldier’s Circle at the Greendale Cemetery, Greendale, Indiana.
