TRAFALGAR
Lowell D. Vandeventer Sr., age 80 passed away Wednesday evening, June 1, 2022 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Trafalgar.
Lowell was born on May 10, 1942 in Oxford, Ohio to his parents, the late Curtis and Verlie (Smith) Vandeventer. He went on to proudly serve his country as a Medic with the United States Army from 1959-1962.
Lowell worked for Arvins in Franklin as a Set Up Man and retired in 2002 after 40 years of service. He enjoyed taking care of his yard, fishing and working on his vehicles, especially his ‘49 Plymouth and ‘49 Ford. Lowell also enjoyed taking care of his dogs Sunshine and Dakota. Most of all, Lowell loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lowell will be missed by his wife, Pamela D. (Sizemore) Vandeventer, whom he married on November 29, 2015 in Nineveh. He will also be missed by his children, Tina (Dan) Porter of Whiteland, Danny (Sandy) Vendeventer of Trafalgar and Susan (Rob) Bucksath of Crittenden, KY; step-mother, Sadie Vandeventer of Middletown, OH; grandchildren, Zach Beaty, Justin Beaty, Dalton Beaty, Daniel (Kendra) Vandeventer, Travis (Deandra) Vandeventer and Tony (Holly) LeVan, Thomas (Miranda) LeVan, Daniel LeVan, and Tiffany LeVan; 13 great grandchildren with one on the way; siblings: Anna V. Burkhart of Nineveh, Charlene Wyrick, Darlene Johnson and Murel Proffitt all of Lily, KY, Sandy (Mike) Wonderly of Middletown, OH, Evelyn Hubbard of London, KY, and Lester “Jimmy” (Marlene) Proffitt of Hamilton, OH.
Lowell was preceded in death by his father Curtis, mother Verlie, first wife, Lula Belle Vandeventer, and siblings: Wanda, James and Coy Parsons, Melvin, Bonnie and Lloyd Proffitt.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 4th at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation &Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown. Military Rites will be presented by the United States Army and the Local Honor Guard.
