Ivy Tech – Franklin hosting enrollment event Tuesday

Students interested in attending Ivy Tech Community College this fall can learn more about enrollment and financial aid next week at the Franklin campus.

The new student enrollment event will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Ivy Tech Franklin Campus, 2205 McClain Drive.

During the event, those interested in enrolling at Ivy Tech can complete an application, begin enrollment steps, receive assistance with financial aid, learn about academic programs and more, according to an Ivy Tech news release. Fall classes start Aug. 22.

The Franklin campus offers career-focused academic programs in high-demand areas including business, education, criminal justice, healthcare, information technology and supply chain management. Beginning this fall, the college is also offering a new Accelerated Associate Degree Program (ASAP), which enables recent high school graduates the chance to earn a two-year associate degree in business administration or liberal arts in just 11 months. Students can then transfer to a four-year university with the equivalent of two years already completed to continuing working toward a bachelor’s degree, the news release says.

Students can also learn more about Ivy Tech’s Ivy+ program, which provides free textbooks, frozen tuition, and free classes after enrolling in 12 credit hours, at the event, the news release says.

Those wanting to attend should allow extra time to get to the campus due to road construction on Jim Black Road. The alternate route to the campus from Interstate 65 is to go west on King Street until you reach the roundabout and turn onto Eastview Drive. From there, head north to the next roundabout and turn right onto Upper Shelbyville Road. After passing over I-65, turn right to head south onto Jim Black Road. Go about 0.5 miles to McClain Drive and turn right to reach the campus, the news release says.
