Here’s the latest on I-69 construction in Johnson County

Drivers should expect lane closures this week on State Road 37 as construction crews continue to work on Interstate 69 between Fairview Road and Smith Valley Road.

After closures to County Road 144 and Smith Valley Road at State Road 37, Bluffdale Drive and Old State Road 37 serve as access roads to State Road 37 at Fairview Road to the north and State Road 144 at Huggin Hollow Road to the south, according to Indiana Department of Transportation’s weekly update on the project.

Motorists should watch for flaggers who are doing waterline work along Mullinix Road south of Smith Valley Road, INDOT officials say.

In Marion County, there will be increasing construction activity west of State Road 37, along Epler Avenue, as utility workers complete tasks in the area. Epler Avenue will close mid-July and will remain closed for the rest of the year. Drivers are advised to exercise caution on Interstate 465 near State Road 37 and the White River after multiple crashes in that area last week, INDOT officials say.

In Morgan County, construction crews will finish pouring bridge deck Tuesday, with concrete pump trucks traveling along State Road 37 as crews work on the Myra Lane Overpass. Work on building driveways for Prince of Peace Lutheran Church north of Martinsville will begin this week. Drivers should also be aware of ongoing I-69 lane closures in Martinsville as construction workers add permanent pavement markings, INDOT officials say.
