Jacob Garrett “Jake” Roberts

NINEVEH, IN.

Jacob Garrett “Jake” Roberts, 23, of Nineveh, Indiana, passed away Saturday June 25, 2022. He was born March 16, 1999, in Franklin, Indiana to Edward L. and Jennifer E. (Black) Roberts.

Jake was a 2017 graduate of Indian Creek High School where he was a member of the Future Farmers of America and the high school golf team. He previously had been a member of the Hopewell Boys and Girls 4-H Club. Jake showed cattle at the Johnson County Fair.

Jake worked alongside the family business, Honey Creek Auto Service and NAPA Auto Parts, in Bargersville. Jake enjoyed anything on wheels, modifying any car or truck he purchased. His friends called him “Rod”, for his love of cars and trucks. He loved grilling and making pizzas for his family. He went on numerous vacations with his family to Pensacola, Florida, where he enjoyed deep-sea fishing. Jake and Ricky (his beloved chocolate lab) spent time in the streets of Morgantown where they would go long boarding with Ricky pulling Jake on his board. Jake had a special bond with Sydney, his sister. They teased each other and he was always poking fun at her. He will forever be missed for his friendliness, chattiness, and his smile. Jake was very social and would do anything for anyone.

Survivors include his parents Edward L. “Ed” and Jennifer E. “Jenny” (Black) Roberts of Nineveh, Indiana, a sister Sydney R. Roberts of Nineveh, Indiana, maternal grandparents P. Greg and Pamela K. (Smith) Black of Franklin, Indiana, paternal grandparents Tillis and Bonnie J. (McClain) Roberts of Bargersville, Indiana, aunt and uncle Tricia M. and Robert Sharp of Morgantown, Indiana, uncle Daniel T. Roberts of Indianapolis, Indiana, uncle and aunt Jason M. and Michelle Roberts of Bargersville, Indiana and nieces, Lauren and Savana Sharp of Morgantown, Indiana and Wyatt Roberts of Bargersville, Indiana.

A time of gathering and sharing will take place on Wednesday June 29, 2022, from 3PM until 7PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, Indiana 46131.
