Beverly J. Jensen

INDIANAPOLIS

Beverly (Poad) Jensen, 79, of Indianapolis, passed away surrounded by her family on June 27, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital, following a year of various medical issues. She was born on December 17, 1942 in Indianapolis, IN to Fred and Lena (Ruebeck) Poad. Beverly was proud to be part of the Southside German Growers families. Bev graduated from Southport High School in 1961 then attended Ball State for a year. On March 25, 1962, she married the love of her life, Jerry Jensen and were married for over 60 years. Once her children were old enough, she started working at Douglas MacArthur Elementary School, spending many years as teacher’s aide and tutor. After she retired, she volunteered at The Refugee food pantry and Midwest Food Bank. She enjoyed quilting and cross-stitch, playing shuffleboard, with Jerry as her partner. Both Jerry and Bev have antique booths at Southport, Exit-76 and Bloomington Antique Malls. She traveled to many countries on 4 continents on volunteer mission trips through Men for Missions International. Beverly was a member of Southland Community Church and an associate member of First Baptist Church of Palmetto, FL.

She is survived by her husband Jerry, plus her 3 sons, Bruce (Yoshie), Brian, and Jim (Sheila), as well as her grandson, Trevor and her brother, Fred Poad (Mary Lu). There will be no public memorial services, Memorial gifts may be sent to Men For Missions in Greenwood, IN
