Fourth of July events happening this weekend

Here’s a look at local Fourth of July events happening this holiday weekend.

Red, White & Blueberry Festival at Mallow Run Winery

6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 2 to 5 p.m. Monday; Mallow Run Winery, 6964 W. Whiteland Road, Bargersville

Celebrate the season with the annual release of Mallow Run Winery’s blueberry wine and blueberry hard cider, along with food trucks and music. Saturday features music from Sounds of Summer at 6 p.m. followed by a fireworks finale. Sunday’s music from Living Proof is at 6 p.m. and is followed by a fireworks finale. There is a $10 per car charge on Saturday and Sunday after 5 p.m.

Monday’s music is from 2 to 5 p.m. and features Indy Annies. Free admission on Monday, and the winery is open from noon to 6 p.m.

Franklin Firecracker Festival

2 to 10 p.m. Sunday; Franklin Amphitheater, 237 W. Monroe St.

Franklin’s new downtown amphitheater at Young’s Creek Park will be the center of patriotic fun during the annual Firecracker Festival. Food trucks and a beer garden will open up to the public at 2 p.m., with activities building up throughout the day. Local youths can see who is the fleetest of foot in the Fastest Kid in Town race. The music of Freddie Mercury, Brian May and the rest of the band will echo around the park during a performance by Absolute Queen. And the night ends with an awe-inspiring display of fireworks at dusk.

Edinburgh Firecracker Festival

5 to 10:30 p.m. Monday; Main Cross Street, Edinburgh

One of Edinburgh’s most popular annual events, the Edinburgh Firecracker Festival will add to the patriotic fun this holiday weekend. People will gather downtown for games and activities for kids, food, live music and more. Fireworks are scheduled to be launched from School Hill, painting the night sky for the masses below.
