Bill W. Boyer, Jr.

GREENWOOD

Mr. Bill W. Boyer, Jr., Greenwood, went Home to be with the Lord on the early morning of Monday, July 11, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was 74. Bill was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, a son of the late Bill W. and Betty M. (Zike) Boyer, Sr.

Bill attended Arsenal Technical High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1966. Bill was also a proud veteran having honorably served his country in the United States Army. He had been employed as a Senior Engineer with Rolls Royce and retired in 2013 after 32 years of service.

Bill was an active member of Gracepoint Church in Whiteland and served with the food pantry, cleaning crew and in security. He was also a life member of the American Legion where he assisted in setting up for the annual Memorial Day parade along with his friends at Rolls Royce.

Bill spent much of his leisure time cooking as well as raising and caring for his vegetable garden. He enjoyed canning his vegetables from his garden. He enjoyed grilling out, playing Euchre and was a fan of the Indiana University Hoosiers basketball team and the Indianapolis Colts. Bill dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Terry (Miller) Boyer, his sons, Dow (Rachel) Boyer and Todd (Angie) Boyer; his grandchildren, Cole, Alayna, Alyvia, Addy, Chase, Noah and Maya and his sisters, Joyce (Lloyd) Cagle and Brenda (John) Thomas.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by a sister and her husband, Barbara and Tommy Kraning and a brother-in-law, Mac McMullen.

Funeral servives will be conducted at 3:00 pm, Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Gracepoint Church, 330 Whiteland Road, Whiteland with his son Pastor Dow Boyer officiating. Inurnment will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors conferred by a contingent from the United States Army and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Military Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the time of service Thursday at the church.
