Linda S. Marchant

Linda S. (Connolly) Marchant, age 73 passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, July 7, 2022 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Nineveh.

Linda was born January 23, 1949 in Blue Island, Illinois to her parents, the late Edward Joseph and Delores (Radeke) Connolly Jr. She was a 1967 graduate of Marion High School in Illinois. Linda started her 20-year career as a Correctional Officer at the Department of Correction, Indiana Youth Center in Indianapolis. She then held the same position at the Indiana Men’s Work Release in Indianapolis and then moved to the Atterbury Correctional Facility. Linda went on to earn a Licensed Practical Nursing Degree from Ivy Tech in Columbus and went back to the Indiana Youth Center and Reception Diagnostic Center to work as an LPN. She later enjoyed helping those in need at Tara Treatment Center in Franklin.

Linda was an Irish Catholic and attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Franklin. She will be remembered as a history buff and one who enjoyed traveling with her husband to either visit family or going on Caribbean vacations. Linda also enjoyed collecting carousel animals and ceramic horse figurines. She was an animal lover and enjoyed caring for her dogs, Cosmo and Pixie.

Linda is survived by her husband, Larry N. Marchant, whom she married on February 9, 1991 in Indianapolis. She is also survived by her daughter, Jayme Brashier of Madison; siblings, Eddie Joseph Connolly III of Kennebunkport, MA and Carol (Anthony) Ross of Florida; grandchildren, Joel Storm of Madison, Jillian (Kathryn Flinn) Storm of Pittsburgh and Jaxin O’Brien of Madison; and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jeffrey Finley and a sister Cheryl Ann Connolly.

In keeping with Linda’s wishes, she will be cremated. Cremation services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation &Personalization Center in Morgantown.
