Here’s the latest on I-69 construction in Johnson County

Area motorists will see continued work on the Interstate 69 project near County Road 144 this week.

County Road 144 will remain closed just east of State Road 37, but is expected to reopen next week after construction crews finish replacing drainage pipes. The right lane of State Road 37 northbound will be closed after 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday as workers lift bridge beams into place for a future I-69 bridge on County Line Road, according to a weekly update from Indiana Department of Transportation.

In Marion County, the Madison Avenue bridge has been completed over Interstate 465 after it closed and was demolished for rebuilding in February. Currently, the bridge has one lane open in each direction, but that will expand to two lanes each way later this week. Another bridge over I-465, at Carson Avenue just west of Interstate 65, will close on Sunday for replacement. The bridge will be the final one replaced on I-465 as part of the I-69 project, and will make room for new I-465 lanes in the future. Drivers should expect lane nightly lane closures for bridgework, INDOT officials say.

In Morgan County, State Road 39 will be closed near Morgan Street in Martinsville after 6 p.m. Saturday in order for a railroad crossing to be repaired. New traffic signals will be turned on at Ohio Street, the Ruth Rusie Way entrance to Artesian Square Shopping Center and at the intersection of Artesian Avenue, Commercial Boulevard and Southview Drive, INDOT officials say.
