MARTINSVILLE
Larry Dean Woodall, 73, passed away peacefully Monday, July 18, 2022 at his home in Martinsville.
He was born Friday, March 25, 1949 to the late Lee and Dorothy P. (Osborne) Woodall in Indianapolis.
Larry was in the very last graduating class of Nineveh High School in 1967 and went on to become an entrepreneur by owning two successful businesses. He was especially proud to own and operate Woodall’s Automotive in Edinburgh where he was a mechanic for Volkswagens. He then owned the Hobby Corner in Greenwood and also worked for Proctor and Gamble before retiring.
Larry loved to race stock cars and go-karts and went on to win the go-kart state championship in his 60s! He loved sports and watched Nascar, IU and Butler Basketball, and the Pacers. He loved his country and served in the United States Air Force Reserves, for seven years. Larry loved to fish and was active in Rock Steady Boxing, a therapy for Parkinson’s Disease. He was also a flea market connoisseur who had a talent for working on and fixing things up. Above all, Larry loved his family. He loved his many years with Karen, spoiled his only daughter, Dana and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Lynn Woodall, who he married January 19, 1968; daughter, Dana Page and husband Chris; grandchildren, Kaley and Keelan; siblings, Jean Thomas, Carolyn Peters, Kimberly Thompson; 18 nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Lee and Dorothy; brother, Kenny Woodall; sister, Teresa Booth.
A Memorial service for Larry will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Hoosier Harvest Church with Pastor Chris Page officiating. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service starting at 6:00 p.m.
Private burial for the family will be at Nineveh Cemetery.
