James “Jim” Coffey

GREENWOOD

James L. Coffey, age 78 of Greenwood, went home to be with the Lord after a long mysterious illness. He was born December 19, 1943 in Indianapolis to Jesse James Coffey and Katherine (Croddy) Coffey. He is survived by his wife Janet, 2 daughters; Dawn Snyder (Richard) and Mary Beyers (Tim), 5 grandchildren; Shelbi Snyder, Delaney Thompson (Jonah), Nicholas Beyers, Korine Beyers, and Joe Beyers, and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Jesse James Coffey (father), Katherine Coffey (mother), Tom Coffey (brother), Jay Coffey (brother), and Steve Coffey (son).

Jim graduated from Emmerich Manual High School in Indianapolis. In 1984 he started Metal Masters, a sheet metal and HVAC company. He worked side by side with his wife (Jan) and best friend (Bill Rinnert) for over 38 years. He retired in December 2016. His favorite hobbies included fishing and target shooting. Jim attended Mt. Pleasant Christian Church and was in a Bible study for over 20 years with many close friends. His sense of humor and smile will be missed.

Services are Friday, July 29 at 1:00 pm with visitation from 11:00 am until time of service at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory-Greenwood Chapel. Burial will immediately follow the service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
