Drivers on State Road 135 will have to wait until September to travel between Trafalgar and Bargersville on State Road 135.
The $2 million construction project oriented around replacing a structure 1.23 miles north of State Road 252 in Trafalgar was originally slated to cause a detour for all of June and July, with drivers rerouted to follow State Road 252, U.S. 31, State Road 144 and State Road 44, with access for local traffic.
The project, however, has been delayed because of a utility conflict at the construction site, with a fiber optic line needing to be moved before construction can resume. That utility work is scheduled to be finished next week, with the project as a whole expected to finish in early or mid-September, said Natalie Garrett, spokesperson for the Indiana Department of Transportation.
