Special Olympics host state softball tourney

Special Olympics Johnson County hosted the state softball tournament on Aug. 6 at the Center Grove Lassie League Field in Greenwood. Twenty-eight teams from sixteen counties competed — nearly half of all Special Olympics teams in Indiana.

Over 20 Center Grove Lassie League players and coaches volunteered at the games all day, serving as umpires, coaches or wherever else they were needed. Kohl’s employees, led by manager Rachael Kwilosz, worked as volunteers all day at various areas, including in the food area passing out lunches provided by Chick-fil-A.

If you are interested in participating or volunteering for Special Olympics Johnson County, please contact Linda Boothe, County Director, at (317) 523-2432.
