WHITELAND, INDIANA
Peggy Sue (Lewis) Williams, 80, of Whiteland, Indiana, passed away at her residence on Saturday, August 6, 2022.
Peggy was born June 11, 1942 in Whiteland to the late Jewell and Gertrude (Coovert) Lewis. She was one of 18 children.
Peggy delivered mail for 32 years in Whiteland and was known as “the mail lady” by the community.
Peggy was a very family-oriented person, a shoulder to lean on, and a foundation to the family. She was a kind hearted person who would go the extra mile to lend a hand. Peggy was the type of person where if you weren’t happy, she wasn’t happy, and she would fix that. She had a very broad sense of humor and there wasn’t a person who she couldn’t make laugh. She enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with her family. There wasn’t a day you couldn’t find her out tending to her garden and flowers. She especially loved the tomatoes she collected. She also enjoyed watching movies and television, mostly love stories. She always found the beauty in things and people, making sure to give them the benefit of the doubt. She was a source of overflowing love and will be sorely missed.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Shellie (Lewis) Warner; two grandchildren, Jordan Hash and Cody Warner; siblings, Mary Jo Wood, Tom Lewis, Bob (Phyllis) Lewis, Donna Ruth (Jacque) Zumbrunn, Stephen Lewis, Paul Lewis, Ranny (Paige) Lewis, Jeff (Helen) Lewis, Tim (Margie) Lewis, Mick (Bill) Chittick, Roger Lewis, John (Trish) Lewis, and Crystal (Richard) Ashbrook; brother-in-law, Kenneth Beeson.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Williams; her parents, Jewell and Gertrude Lewis; her sister, Rebecca Beeson; three brothers, Larry Dean Lewis, Ronald Otto Lewis, and Kenneth Lewis.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Jessen &Keller Funeral Homes ~ Whiteland Chapel with funeral service on Friday, August 12th at 11:30am at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana.
