Mary Elizabeth Eads

Mary Elizabeth Eads, 93 of Franklin passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 in the skilled nursing unit of Indiana Masonic Home/Compass Park with her family by her side.

She was born on August 27, 1928 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Walter and Glennie (Vandivier) Richardson. She married Jack Eugene Eads on April 2, 1950. He preceded her in passing on June 25, 1995. Mary Elizabeth is survived by their children, Elizabeth Jane Eads (Carla J. Pratt); Stanley Eugene Eads (Debbie); Alice Jean Eads Mann (Mike Jarvis) and Phillip Dean Eads (Stacey); grandchildren, Derek Eads (Shannon); Dustin Eads (Crystal); Daryl Eads (Kaitlyn); Jennifer Mann (wife of deceased grandson Jason); Zachery Eads (Ashley) and Benjamin Eads. Also surviving are great grandchildren, Katy, Jaron, Emma, Hayden, Asher and Tinsley Eads; Dylan, Alivia, Blayden, Ava, Alexus, Arie and Atticus Mann; and Grayson, Charlotte Eads and another great grandson on the way. She was preceded in passing by her parents; husband, Jack; grandsons, Ryan and Jason Mann; and great-grandson, Landon Eads.

She was a Franklin High School graduate.

Mary Elizabeth was a homemaker on the family farm in Union Township. She later worked for WalMart for fifteen plus years.

She was a longtime member of First Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Franklin. She was a 50 plus year member of Union Village Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star #584, and an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War. Also, she was a member of the Red Hat Society. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling, dancing and cars. Mary Elizabeth loved her family more than anything, as well as traveling, especially to Brown County and the Smokey Mountains to view all of the wildlife.

A celebration of Mary Elizabeth’s life will be held on Monday, August 29 at 2:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin with visitation on Monday, August 29 from 11:00 a.m. to time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at First Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin.
