Girls golf

Grizzly Cubs roll to league title

No. 7 Franklin posted a team total of 314 to win Mid-State Conference championship by 18 shots over Plainfield at Foxcliff on Wednesday afternoon. All five Grizzly Cubs earned individual all-conference honors, led by Lexi Ray (72), who finished second among all players. Reese Phillips added a 77 for Franklin, followed closely by Addi Bright (82), Morgan Sandrock (83) and Addie Livorno (84).

Whiteland finished fifth with a total of 410. Kylie McGovern led the Warriors with a 92, while Chloe Cooper finished at 97. Greenwood (417) was seventh, paced by Emma Baker’s 96.

Braves dominate Hornets

Indian Creek cruised to a 219-273 win over Beech Grove. Hannah Emenhiser was the medalist with a 42 for the Braves.

Girls soccer

Woodmen edge Artesians

Emily Metzger and Kendyl Farmer each scored a goal and assisted on one another’s as Greenwood defeated Mooresville on Wednesday, 2-1. Bre Wheatley made six saves for the Woodmen (4-1-1, 2-1 Mid-State).

Warriors top Hawks

Emma Gill scored a pair of goals and Alexa LaPorte added a goal and an assist as Whiteland defeated Decatur Central, 3-1.

Boys tennis

Indian Creek keeps rolling

A 5-0 home win over Greencastle kept Indian Creek’s record perfect on the season. Peyton Strunk, Brendan Conner and Grant Dalton claimed the singles points for the Braves (9-0, 5-0 WIC), who also got doubles victories from Aiden Pemberton and Landon Sichting at No. 1 and Trent Volz and Aaron Spurgeon in the second position.

Woodmen come up short

Greenwood suffered a 5-0 loss against Bloomington North on Wednesday, falling to 8-5 overall on the season.

Royals blank Lutheran

Roncalli shut out Indianapolis Lutheran, 5-0. Chris Stanley and Henry Howe won in the top two singles spots, Jordan Bauerle and Andrew Heiden finished on top at first doubles and the team of Ben Workman and Elijah Rutherford did the same at No. 2.

Volleyball

Braves win road marathon

Faith Wiseman had 21 kills against just two errors, leading Indian Creek to a 25-18, 26-24, 23-25, 21-25, 15-10 victory at North Putnam on Tuesday night. Adriana Williams added 10 kills for the Braves, while Sav Hall and Ava Myers had 20 digs apiece.

Cross country

Roncalli defeats Cardinals

Roncalli swept Southport in a dual meet on Wednesday, 15-50. Sam Vaught crossed the finish line first in 17:15.
