Grizzly Cubs sweep Artesians

Kennedy Urban dished out 36 assists in Franklin’s 25-12, 25-15, 25-11 home sweep of Martinsville on Tuesday. Aubrey Runyon had 13 kills for the Grizzly Cubs, while Scarlett Kimbrell added 11 kills and 15 digs and Kate Pinnick pulled up 13 digs on the back row.

Roncalli defeated in four

Roncalli suffered a 25-21, 21-25, 25-21, 25-20 loss at Class 4A No. 5 Brebeuf Jesuit. Logan Bell and Aris Berger had 10 and eight kills, respectively, for the Royals (13-5), while Aly Kirkhoff had 28 digs.

Girls golf

Franklin routs Shelbyville

Lexi Ray was the medalist with a 39 as No. 7 Franklin romped to a 163-217 win over Shelbyville at Blue Bear on Tuesday. Morgan Sandrock and Addie Livorno each shot a 41 for the Grizzly Cubs, while Kara Heuchan rounded out the scoring with a 42.

Trojans edge Brebeuf

Loc Pham’s three-set triumph at second singles allowed No. 7 Center Grove to escape with a 3-2 victory over 11th-ranked Brebeuf Jesuit on Tuesday. Tyler Lane was victorious at No. 1 singles for the Trojans, while Daksh Patel and Evan Davis were winners at second doubles.

Warriors shut out Woodmen

No. 28 Whiteland posted a 5-0 win over Mid-State Conference rival Greenwood on Tuesday. Spencer Gillespie was a three-set winner over Noah Paswater at No. 1 singles, and Ty McCullars and Carson Baumann won in straight sets at second and third singles. Chase Koester and Kai Koester picked up a point at No. 1 doubles, while the No. 2 duo of Isaac Phegley and Gavin Stubbe was also victorious.

The Warriors (11-4) also beat Mooresville on Monday, 4-1.

Lancers fall to Tigers

Max Blandford and Austin Brockman each pushed his singles match to a third set, but Edinburgh suffered a 5-0 setback against Triton Central.

Franklin wound up on the wrong end of a 5-0 score against No. 6 Columbus North. Reid Davidson managed to push his match at No. 2 singles to a third set for the Grizzly Cubs.

Royals come up short

Roncalli got a victory from Henry Howe at No. 2 singles but still dropped a 4-1 decision at Ben Davis.

Boys soccer

Trojans battle to draw

Center Grove managed a 4-4 tie with Class 3A No. 11 Pike on Tuesday. Landen Montfort scored three goals for the Trojans, with Preston Fisher adding the other. Ely Detty contributed three assists.

Roncalli loses at Brebeuf

Despite a whopping 18 saves from Ainsley Bishop, Roncalli came out on the losing end of a 2-0 match against Brebeuf Jesuit on Tuesday.

Woodmen tie Cougars

Bre Wheatley came up with six saves to keep a clean sheet as Greenwood battled Greenfield-Central to a 0-0 tie late Monday night. The Woodmen (5-2-2) host Plainfield today.

Grizzly Cubs fall to Panthers

Franklin got an early goal from Erica Buening but wound up on the wrong end of a 9-1 score against Class 3A No. 9 Bloomington South on Monday.
