Here’s the latest on I-69 construction in Johnson County

Two-thirds of the interchanges for Interstate 69 in Johnson County are now open. The interchange on State Road 144 partially opened Friday and the interchange at County Line Road opened last month.

Drivers can now use on- and off-ramps to State Road 37 to State Road 144. Drivers going northbound on State Road 37 bound for State Road 144 should follow State Road 37 north to County Line Road and use roundabouts to enter the highway, according to a weekly construction update from the Indiana Department of Transportation.

Drivers can also take Bluffdale Road and Old State Road 37, accessed by the State Road 37 signal at Fairview Road. Old State Road 37, also known as Waverly Park Road, will reopen north of State Road 37 when traffic is shifted to the new bridge, INDOT officials say.

With the progress, drivers should be aware there is still a traffic signal at Banta Road. The signal is the only one on I-69 between Smith Valley Road and Evansville, INDOT officials say.

In Marion County, the Mann Road bridge over Interstate 465 will open later this week or early next week, accompanied by paving and signal work on Mann Road. Wicker Road is limited to one lane as construction crews work on a retaining wall for future I-69 overpasses. Temporary signals control two-way traffic on the road, INDOT officials say.

In Morgan County, lanes shift north of Martinsville where traffic is limited to one lane in each direction. Lane and shoulder closures along I-69 between State Road 252 and State Road 44 will occur this week, INDOT officials say.
