Girls soccer

Woodmen defeat Hawks

Greenwood earned a 3-1 victory over Decatur Central on Wednesday in the completion of a previously suspended game. Kendyl Farmer, Emily Metzger and Joelle Young each had a goal for the Woodmen (7-3-2, 3-3 Mid-State), while Young had two assists and Mallory Mahin added one. Goalies Bre Wheatley and Kate Berger combined for 12 saves in the win.

Royals fall in shootout

Roncalli went the distance with Class A No. 1 Park Tudor in Marion County tournament action, playing to a 2-2 tie before losing on penalty kicks. Fi Kelley tallied a pair of goals in regulation for the Royals (7-7-1).

Braves sweep Pioneers

Indian Creek shut out Mooresville on Wednesday, 5-0. Peyton Strunk, Brendan Conner and Grant Dalton swept the singles points for the Braves (17-1), Aiden Pemberton and Landon Sichting won at first doubles and the No. 2 duo of Trent Volz and Aaron Spurgeon was also victorious.

Lancers come up short

Austin Brockman was a winner at No. 1 singles, but Edinburgh came out on the short end of a 4-1 score against Madison on Wednesday.

Grizzly Cubs edge Cougars

J.D. Sever scored just before time expired to lift Franklin to a 3-2 triumph over Bloomington North on Tuesday. Griffin Atkison scored the other two goals for the Grizzly Cubs, while Brady Schmidt and Ethan Elsner each had an assist and Adam Ott made six saves.

Trojans get past Quakers

Ely Detty netted the lone goal of the night in Center Grove’s 1-0 win over Plainfield on Tuesday.
