Bridge over 135 to close south of Morgantown on Monday

An Indiana Department of Transportation contractor plans to close State Road 135 near Morgantown to continue rehabilitation work on the truss bridge over Indian Creek, located just south of State Road 252.

On or after Monday, October 17, Force Construction Company will close the road between Church Street and the south end of the bridge over Indian Creek to allow crews to remove the temporary runaround and bridge, complete milling and paving, and install guardrails and storm sewer, according to a news release from INDOT.

The truss bridge is expected to open to traffic in late October, weather permitting, INDOT officials say.

The official detour route follows U.S. 31 to Interstate 65 at Exit 76 for Taylorsville, to I-65 Exit 68 for State Road 46, back to State Road 135.
